“Once upon a midnight dreary…”
October was made for Edgar Allan Poe.
As the nights grow longer and Halloween draws near, Voices by the Fire returns for an evening devoted to one of literature’s most haunting voices. Join us at Palace on Monday, October 26 at 7 PM for a night of poetry, storytelling, and the deliciously macabre.
Hosted by Mazey Knox, the evening begins with local theatrical readers bringing Poe’s words off the page, including his tales of ravens and lost loves, madness and mystery, shadows and things that go bump in the night.
Then, the floor belongs to you.
The second half of the evening opens into our signature open mic, inviting guests to share their own original work—or another piece inspired by the dark, romantic, gothic spirit of Poe.
Come listen. Come read. Come disappear into the shadows for a while.
